1999 Civil Society Engaging Multilateral Institutions: At the Crossroads was held in Montreal on September 9 and 10, 1999; the Forum focused on a series of cases studies of civil society's interactions with six multilateral entities. 2000 Promoting Human Security: Civil Society Influence was held in Montreal from 1-3 October 2000; the Forum examined five case studies on Human Security and where civil society organizations have influenced the multilateral system. 2001 Turning UN Agreements into Action: The Role of Civil Society in the Monitoring and Implementation of Multilateral Agreements was held from October 2-4, in Brisbane, Australia; the Forum focused on the participation of civil society actors in the review and implementation of major UN summit agreements: lessons and opportunities.
